![]() The short development time was a challenge, however it was made a lot easier with the game being developed almost exclusively using Multimedia Fusion 2 (MMF2). However, this presented it’s own challenge: how could I add depth to create a feeling of a more engaging experience? We ended up developing a system of permanent boosts the player could choose from before starting a new game, and an additional system of bonuses the player could earn during the game if they were doing well. It’s quite a simple arcade game, so there wasn't too much in terms of complicated mechanics to develop. Mighty Cricket was developed over a period of about 3 weeks. Over the past few weeks I created a small arcade game called Mighty Cricket, and I thought I’d share some information about the development process and challenges.
